It is important we understand what is written for our knowing of iniquity and those who live by it, so by using some basic spiritual sense, we will see that in the scriptures that every manner of perverted behavior before God is grievous to Him, no matter what level of sin is presented. And since it is still going on, even though a witness of a creator God has existed for at least two millennia, it tells us something is still out of place.
Rom 1:20-32 (MSG) By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can’t see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse. Those who deny there is a God are conformed to the effects of wickedness and evils present. Thus, removing themselves from His eternal purpose and seeing sin as the natural thing to do, revealed by behavior that eventually cost both a present and eternal life.
21 What happened was this: People knew God perfectly well, but when they didn’t treat him like God, refusing to worship him, they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. 22 They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. The truth regarding sin’s attempt to satisfy a carnal nature destroys the working of it, but sins apparently in the fact that it is still among us is a testimony every individual can choose to do. However, it degrades the creator and brings forth a form of self-idol-ism that trades a created glory for the darkness of evils and immoral deceptions.
23 They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand. 24 So God said, in effect, “If that’s what you want, that’s what you get.” It wasn’t long before they were living in a pigpen, smeared with filth, filthy inside and out. Thus, immorality becomes a lifestyle to them, a natural way of living, because it constantly satisfies their desire to live a life of perversity. This results in an internal conflict between soul and spirit that erroneously deems any Godly living to be conflicting and without measure.
They encourage others to live the same lifestyle and freely accept all manners of carnal lust and sinful activity through sexual perversity, neutralizing any morals and equity of life. 25 And all this because they traded the true God for a fake god, and worshiped the god they made instead of the God who made them—the God we bless, the God who blesses us. Oh, yes! We can see how they garner this perverse mindset, thinking they are above God and that what they choose to do in this lifestyle of fleshly darkness is far better than anything God will do for them.
26 Worse followed. Refusing to know God, they soon didn’t know how to be human either women didn’t know how to be women, men didn’t know how to be men. 27 Sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another, women with women, men with men all lust, no love. And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches. What is the end of all of this? Individuals who are unconscious of their created purpose and forced to seek out and fulfill sinful acts by a carnal love of self, void of any love for God.
28 Since they didn’t bother to acknowledge God, God quit bothering them and let them run loose. God has never done anything against a person’s will; they are free to choose to do whatever they want, which includes choosing to deny Christ and the God who created them. They are in constant warfare of mind and heart, trying to reason out and justify events in their life. Inventing new evils and wicked plots to try to satisfy a soul in torment from deception and lies, and spiritual mistruths.
29 And then all hell broke loose; rampant evil, grabbing and grasping, vicious backstabbing. They made life hell on earth with their envy, wanton killing, bickering, and cheating. Look at them: mean-spirited, venomous, 30 fork-tongued God-bashers. Bullies, swaggerers, insufferable windbags! They keep inventing new ways of wrecking lives. They ditch their parents when they get in the way. 31 Stupid, slimy, cruel, cold-blooded. What I call liberal ideals are those designed to provoke others to engage in sinful lifestyles by claiming anyone who opposes such living is just a bigot, a social intolerant, a phobic, a racist, or a self-righteous. And yet all of this is to cover up their desire for immorality that is completely defiant of God.
It is all because, to accept Him would mean to accept what He has done, and that defies selfishness, the single most deceptive factor the devil uses to destroy humanity. 32 And it’s not as if they don’t know better. They know perfectly well they’re spitting in God’s face. And they don’t care, they hand out prizes to those who do the worst things best! Ideologies like liberal progressivism promote sins and evils to disrupt society through social narratives, creating secular activism that has today even invaded many churches. Revealed in the social pandering to which a ministry resorts, emotional expletives are used, saying sin can be easily transfigured to appear as an incorrect perception of what one does.
Liberalism will continue to apply its socialist platforms into society’s political, governmental, educational, and even religious environments, all to promote unrest meant to cover up any spirit of deception within an agenda. Those helping to engineer society to be void of moral and ethical standards should be charged with being out of character to God by a politically correct phobia. If you want to understand more about why many believers are becoming resistant to the truth, you need to move from the present and look at the history of the Church’s established control over its occupants.
