Are There Any Good Left Among Us?

In this country today we hear on a daily basis the reports about crony capitalism, lying politicians, deceitful government, wasteful spending, mismanagement of tax dollars, and oh yes bureaucratic incompetence. Why are these mannerisms present in a nation that in its beginning was brought to be the most rightly governed nation on earth? Obviously, something is wrong! But just what that is is evidently debatable among the people of this nation.

Many on the left think that such incompetence is solely the fault of the Republican Party, and yet the same thing is said by the right about the Democratic Party. So who’s right? Both! Why do I say both are right? Simply because both parties have these mannerisms inherent in them, while there may be some disparity between them neither can fault the other innocently.

This kind of ill-minded manner of thinking, which is just that – ill, sick, and plagued with corruption, will never benefit the nation and most especially the people of it. I remember a story in the Bible where Moses on a daily basis, was by himself discerning every case and issue brought before him by the people. And I imagine since we are always talking about the civil or societal issues in our daily reference, he probably had to deal with it as well.

What is interesting about the story is that his father-in-law Jethro came along and helped him out by counseling him on how to increase the oversight of governing the nation of Israel. This is one of the things that Jethro said to Moses, Exodus 18:21(MSG) And then you need to keep a sharp eye out for competent men—men who fear God, men of integrity, men who are incorruptible—and appoint them as leaders over groups organized by the thousand, by the hundred, by fifty, and by ten.

Now let’s think for a moment what was the common denominators among the founding fathers of this nation? OH YES, I remember, they all feared God, and while not perfect by any means, they were considered men of integrity, leaders in their communities. But here is the main issue concerning the difference between those men and the ones that we have foolishly elected today. They were not going to allow themselves to be corrupted by others or for some monetary gain, they actually considered the loss of life and wealth to not prevent them from doing the right thing.

It would not be fair to some who may be of an honest report if I just lumped everyone of our politicians into this statement, yet I have to say this. Any that feel they are not of such a mannerism need to work to reveal those who are, and remove their corruptive efforts for the sake of the nation and the people.
