Chelsea Clinton has said that, as a “deeply religious person,” the idea of America going back to a pre-Roe v. Wade society where abortions were banned is “unchristian.”
It continues to become harder to see genuine faith in the statements that are being made today by well known public figures who claim to be Christians. Most especially since the actions and lifestyle of many of these same individuals clearly lend to a missed construction of the narrative “religious” which within itself contains a simplistic idealism that says I must do whatever it takes to be relevant in the circles of righteousness.
Chelsea’s proclamation of being deeply religious cannot hold the bar to what one would call religious if measured by the number of secular sanctions she has supported and even promoted throughout her young career. While she may fully believe she’s religious I doubt the actual understanding of it is vilified by the Spirit of God, as He wouldn’t take on a character supplanting abortion of unborn infants. And to imply that Christianity is a platform readily available to anyone who wants to be seen as religiously staunch is an insult to all who by faith in Christ have a genuine character of God present.
Her statement of removing Wade vs. Roe’s decision being unchristian should render an outcry from all of the Church to rebuke and chastise such narratives. It, unfortunately, falls upon deaf ears of most of the body of Christ, since pulpit sanctions of today don’t quantify righteousness as a requisite for living as a child of God. So, we have silence bearing acceptance occurring at many levels in society as well as the Church. What used to be unheard of and out of character to decency and respect is now the norm simply because of who said it, a tactic of the devil I might add. As I understand from scripture an acceptance of abortion is murder since its premeditated and sanctions the death of the fetus, an unacceptable action before an all righteous God.
Jeremiah 32:35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
The amazing aspect in this scripture is that God himself said even He never thought that anyone whom He told not to follow after such evils would go ahead and do such a thing anyway. Those who support abortion consciously choose to render an evil upon society that can never be billeted to any truth that exists in either religious anals or Christian testimony. Just like those who threw their children into the fire pits as an offering to Baal and other gods the abortionist of today destroy future generations for the sake of a right to legally choose such a murderous act.
Those who believe the Church is to be abstinent of any rebuke of evil that befalls society are ill respectful of the God who created them and will carry before Him at their day of judgment a conviction they cannot deny. Nothing that is unrighteous will prevail in the sight of a righteous God and neither will the testimony of these murderers when they try to justify it solely because it was ignorantly made legal. Psalm 7:8 The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
