So, what else can one do as God’s son or daughter regarding the blessings He has purposed for them? First, one must understand that all things belong to God, even the money one is blessed with, and that you are just a steward of it here on earth. Luke 12:42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
In looking for what it means to be a good steward in the sight of the one who gave such things, we must search God’s word by the Holy Spirit for those things that reveal the truth. No one can outgive God, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can give as God gives.
Luke 16:1-2 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods. 2And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward. Jesus points out that being a steward of the master’s stuff is a responsibility for which one is accountable.
The believer’s position of stewardship is an appointed position given to them because they have been spiritually appointed and are responsible for blessings. Luke 16:3-12 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. In this proverb the steward recognized he was losing his position as stewardship over his master’s blessings, and had anxiety as to what he would now do by his own ability.
This steward may be in this spot because of anxiety over what to do with the master’s goods. Whatever he did, it was to the degree that his master no longer saw him capable of continuing as his steward.
4 Ah, I’ve got a plan. Here’s what I’ll do… then when I’m turned out into the street, people will take me into their houses.’ 5Then he went at it. One after another, he called in the people who were in debt to his master. He said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ 6“He replied, ‘A hundred jugs of olive oil.’ “The manager said, ‘Here, take your bill, sit down here quick now write fifty.’ 7“To the next he said, ‘And you, what do you owe?’ “He answered, ‘A hundred sacks of wheat.’ “He said, ‘Take your bill, write in eighty.’ 8
Let me explain something: if a believer maintains stewardship before God by operating the spiritual blessings of the kingdom in a way that is common in nature to how He does it, they are doing good work. But if they take God’s blessings and scatter them in places unprepared for their spiritual purpose, they are coming under the judgment of their responsibility and accused of being bad stewards.
Luke 16:8 (MSG) “Now here’s a surprise: The master praised the crooked manager! And why? Because he knew how to look after himself. Streetwise people are smarter in this regard than law-abiding citizens. They are on constant alert, looking for angles, surviving by their wits.
Looking at this from the message format above, we see that this bad steward figured out how to survive when he could no longer be a steward of his master’s blessings. But why did his former master commend him? He resorted to positioning himself to be acceptable to those who choose to live according to the systems of the world. This is an exciting principle that one should notice. However, if one rightly stewards God’s goods, the power of the blessing works. What if one stewards in a manner that prevents the blessing from its spiritual purpose, will they be left to their own ability to provide what they need? YES.
Luke 16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. Another aspect of stewardship is that if you have done well to obtain favor with those who choose to depend on the world’s systems, then you have sown unrighteously and will be received into another kingdom: the world and its economic systems. In other words, if they come, your blessings are now tied to whatever the world does.
10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. 11If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own? What is being said here is that if you trust in and sow into the systems of this world, your blessing is limited to the world’s ability. The above statement expresses what one should be faithful to do with what he or she has been given, and if you do rightly with the least of it, then more will come, but if you do wrongly with that which is given, then who will give you that which is your own?
I want you to focus on a fact: if the child of God does not do well with worldly substances such as money, how will God trust them with the true riches of spiritually empowered kingdom blessings? One can see that money is to serve the believer, not for them to serve it, and that they are to continue to serve the God who provides all blessings. This especially concerns the local churches’ activities focused on fulfilling only what He has instructed.
Everyone has, at times, seen someone in need and out of their substance, whether it be money, material goods, or food supplements, they gave to help them. While this is good work and acceptable to God, it is often used to justify that one is giving their money or material goods out of being compelled to do something that should never have happened. What do I mean by this? If one is a steward of God’s goods, one should be attentive to His will to be done and not intent on doing anything without being conscious of its spiritual purpose.
Math 20:8 But when the evening was come, the lord of the vineyard says to his steward, Call the workmen and pay [them] their wages, beginning from the last even to the first. The distribution of blessings on this earth is to be fulfilled by those who are stewards of it, not their resources. This statement may not be well accepted, but many blessings from God have been thrown before the dogs and swine, and it was never intended by Christ to be done; therefore, the Holy Spirit would never influence us to do what is not purposed by God.
Math 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. I want you to gain knowledge and understanding of everything we are talking about. But concerning this verse. I know that most have already discerned it and understand what Jesus is saying here, but if for no other reason than confirmation of your understanding, let’s look at it anyway.
The word translated as holy here is the Greek word (hagios), which typically means “set apart.” However, to gain a clearer understanding, we need to examine the root Greek word (hagnos), which means ‘clean’. Thus, “to make holy” means signifying one that is made clean or set apart for God, sanctified, a person made the opposite of (koinos), which means “common;” as to this world, so hagios can be translated as “Saint.”
So, what can we say concerning stewardship of those things God has set apart for a specific purpose? What did he say not to do? Do not give the dogs what has been set apart for God, which I believe refers not only to us and our salvation but to the gifts and callings. The word for dogs here is just that: dogs, but what does that mean? A dog, as referred to here, is a companion who follows you around to get from you whatever they can to satisfy a need without wanting the spiritual purpose of such. They stay close to you to get only what they want; in other words, they stay with you and follow you only because of their appetite for what you have or do for them.
Often, the spiritual things you are blessed with and distribute come from God. Therefore, let’s look at Jesus’s next point concerning these swine. He refers to one’s pearls, which means something of great value to the individual or God. Why pearls? The term pearl relates to something rare, fine, admirable, and seen as valuable. More importantly, it refers to a one-of-a-kind creation. Math 13:45-46 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a merchant seeking goodly pearls: 46and having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
The term swine represents those who in no way desire to change their ways and will trample on your witness and testimony, ridiculing and condemning you for being a child of God. And if they can hurt you physically, they will and have no spiritual consciousness of God. One’s stewardship is not only about blessings, things from God, and their distribution on earth. I believe it is also about being a good steward of the most valuable blessing and asset He has on the earth, YOU, His sons and daughters.
I know there is teaching concerning how one should be willing to be expendable to advance the kingdom of God, but I find no evidence in scripture that God is into waste management concerning those Christ has saved. I am saying that God in no way places His children in harm’s way to gain some recognition in this world, nor does He use them as disposable assets to be cast aside or trampled by the enemy, just to accomplish a religious advantage or maintain a ministerial presence customary in many churches and ministries. Luke 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Jesus came and gave His life to redeem us from a destructive worldly system focused on consuming every life in it. God is into life management, concerning a child of God for the glory of Christ Jesus. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Stewardship of blessings requires spiritual assistance to fulfill its purpose. That is why each believer has the Holy Spirit with them and is to be in them, to assist in doing what pleases the Father.
The priests of Israel were responsible for nurturing the people to maintain a consciousness of the God who brought them out of Egypt; they did this by having ceremonial processes revealed to them that had a spiritual underlying meaning. They were the stewards of these ceremonial events. Yet, they only had a legal understanding of them, thus building up a religious perception, not a spiritual perception of what they would eventually bring into existence.
I revealed that God had already, in the spiritual realm, proposed what would take place in the natural concerning Abraham and Sarah bringing Isaac into the earth, and that Abraham only had to trust God for it to happen. Rom 4:13-18 (MSG) That famous promise God gave Abraham that he and his children would possess the earth was not given because of something Abraham did or would do. It was based on God’s decision to put everything together for him, which Abraham then entered when he believed.
Like Abraham, every believer has been given spiritual blessings as their prophetic possession. The fact that they are theirs has nothing to do with what they do for God based upon what God had already determined He would do for them. They must believe like Abraham and trust God to do what He says He will do, not try to fulfill a spiritual purpose by performing ritualistic servitude.
14 If those who get what God gives them only get it by doing everything they are told to do and filling out all the right forms properly signed, that eliminates personal trust completely and turns the promise into an ironclad contract! That’s not a holy promise; that’s a business deal. 15A contract drawn up by a hard-nosed lawyer and with plenty of fine print only makes sure that you will never be able to collect. But if there is no contract in the first place, simply a promise and God’s promise at that you can’t break it.
This is at the core of the darkness that I began revealing to you when I said that there are issues that the church will not engage in at the pulpit by the word of God; these are what I call taboos. 16 This is why the fulfillment of God’s promise depends entirely on trusting God and his way, and then simply embracing him and what he does. God’s promise arrives as pure gift. That’s the only way everyone can be sure to get in on it, those who keep the religious traditions and those who have never heard of them. For Abraham is father of us all. He is not our racial father—that’s reading the story backwards. He is our faith father.
God has made us His spiritual offspring by faith in His ability to do what He says He will do. One’s salvation is a gift from God through Christ for receiving what He had promised initially. Your stewardship is not about money or material goods manifesting, but about His blessings working on this earth. 17 We call Abraham “father” not because he got God’s attention by living like a saint, but because God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody. Isn’t that what we’ve always read in Scripture, God saying to Abraham, “I set you up as father of many peoples”? Abraham was first named “father” and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life, with a word make something out of nothing.
You may have messed up, and the devil took your stuff, most especially your financial blessings revealed by the word of God. 18 When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do. And so he was made father of a multitude of peoples. God himself said to him, “You’re going to have a big family, Abraham!”
The God who made you has more than enough to replenish you. As a child of faith, you are established in His promises, promises that He cannot break; otherwise, He would not be God, but because He is, He can do all impossible things for you.
Nothing about money is Taboo, except loving it more than God!
