I continue to read articles concerning the status of many Christian voters in the upcoming election. Several of them focus on Evangelicals who claim to be never Trumpers or even voters at all. This is a troubling situation for Christ’s Church as scripture reveals that God is the one who sets the powers to be.
Rom 13:1-2 Let every soul be subject to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and the authorities existing are appointed by God, 2 so that he who is setting himself against the authority, has resisted against God’s ordinance; and those resisting will receive judgment to themselves.
Many in the Church argue that Christians should be influencers in the political arenas but not necessarily be voters as it might conflict with one’s personal discerning of the candidates. Others contend that it is not right to vote for someone who has a dark past and hasn’t changed or made public repentance of their past sins. I.E. Mr. Trump. Then you have those who take a righteous spot on the Holier than Thou charter and decree no present candidate is worthy of their mighty vote.
This multitude of senseless reasoning has been in the past and is in the present helping the devil to negotiate his choices for power and authority in this country. As in decisions about good and evil, there is no choosing if you are a child of God, your heavenly Father has made your decision and won’t be for evil.
For the past 25 years or so Christians in America have been on a pathway to indecision, most especially concerning spiritual matters. Not surprising is the fact that many have no consciousness of what role they play in the powers that be.
Rom 14:10-12 But why do you judge your brother? Or also why do you despise your brother? For all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” 12 So then each one of us will give account concerning himself to God.
It baffles my soul when Christians declare themselves judges of other people’s sins. And yet, they are themselves under account to God for what they do in life and Christ himself will not judge them but has died to save them. Obviously, something they forgot.
If the character of the candidate is an issue to God then He is not God because scripture reveals God is focused on a heart that He can influence to do His will, and if not then David, Paul, Moses, and Peter would not have held the dutied status of high positions for spiritual purposes.
Political elections are by the constitution an issue for those who are citizens of this nation, and the processes are to be established to ensure that the tally of votes for each candidate is correct and without fault or favor. It is a known fact that in recent elections there have been elements of those processes that bear question in that certain counts were not done respectfully. Be that as it may, for the Christian it is not about the activities of the political parties but whether or not they are voting according to the Spirit of God.
So, let’s clarify that Christians should vote in the elections. Why? First off, voting is the process under the laws of the land that determines who will be the person holding the highest position in this nation. Laws that God himself respects, whether good or bad, so every believer in Christ has a right to vote and should by the Spirit of God vote per His intent and concern over the spiritual well-being of this nation. However, herein lies a problem concerning this issue, most Christians do not view the election as a spiritual issue they contend it is all about the character of the candidates.
Just so you know, it is not about the character of anyone for a Christian, only the fact that you as His offspring have done His will. This constitutes being able to hear the voice of God, which in today’s churches is difficult given the level of dynamics entertaining them. However, His children must be involved in the issues that have spiritual ramifications attached. In this case, it is the overall well-being of a nation that is constantly before Him struggling with the evils that are occurring among its citizens of which many are Christians.
That brings up another point to be made, in that, too many of those Christians are ignorant of evils taking place in our schools, government, politics, and even in churches. They have fallen into the same trap all of America is trying to get out of, evil narratives whether by media, government, politicians, educators, oligarchs of businesses, and unfortunately pulpits that are to control how every person thinks regarding the social enigmas it creates.
I know you are saying you don’t accept the status quo about the evils taking place, you are a Christian you have God on your side. That is true but if it were true for about 40 million of you then God would have not had to do what He is now doing, protecting a candidate from being killed using supernatural means that reveal in every case a spirit of evil is behind it.
Getting back to the fact that political elections are about spiritual issues God is concerned about, placing all Christians in positions of relevant fortitude to do His will when voting in it. God is not voting himself but is voting through each believer to accomplish what He wants to be done, and it is not to be hindered by senseless demagoguing or deceit of character or religious piety. His will done by His children for His purpose is all that Christians need to be concerned about.
So, if you are one of those who is determined to do your will rather than God’s for whatever reason concerning the upcoming election, then let me remind you that anyone who rejects reproof or correction in relationship to God is as the scripture says stupid.
Proverbs 12:1 (AMP) Whoever loves instruction and discipline loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof and correction is stupid.
You have just been reproofed by what is said here so act on it as knowledge from God for His purpose and vote not by anything other than the leading of the Holy Spirit, and you will fulfill your heavenly Father’s will.
